Why can't I get a refund if I cancel my Chef's Table reservation more than 72 hours prior to the scheduled dinner?
Planning and preparation is done in advance of our Chef's Table Dinners in order to provide you with the most enjoyable dining experience possible.
Staff is scheduled in order to accommodate the number or guests expected and menu ingredients must be purchased according to amounts needed. Chef Alan dedicates days to meticulous preparation of your meal.
Therefore, please understand that we cannot provide refunds for cancellation of your Chef's Table Dinner Reservations. If you experience an emergency situation that prevents your attendance please contact our staff asap so that we may contact people on the waiting list and try to fill your seat for you. If your reservation cannot be filled no refund will be issued.

What Covid 19 precautions can I expect
We will be changing some of our procedures to protect customers and staff while we are weathering the continuing Covid-19 situation. We know you understand that we can’t at this time go back to “normal”. We have instituted strict guidelines to minimize contact between guests, and our staff, while making the Tess’ experience enjoyable and meaningful.
For the time being, cooking classes, as Chef’s Tables have always been, will be demonstration only, to minimize the number of hands touching your food. Customers at the counter will be separated by plexi-glass shields. The exception will be people who are part of a group. Please indicate on RezClick if you wish to sit together. To maintain social distancing, we will accommodate a limited number of guests at the counter, but will have satellite tables if needed.
Tasting for classes and service for Chef’s Table will follow county guidelines as far as gloves and face coverings for servers. We will have signage explaining our other precautions.
-
When should I arrive
Please arrive 15-30 minutes prior to the scheduled start time of your cooking class or Chef's Table dinner to allow for parking and checking in.
-
What happens if my class is canceled?
Classes are canceled if there are fewer than 6 people enrolled within 72 hours of the scheduled class and you will be notified. Classes are also cancelled due to conditions beyond our control such as weather, power outages, etc. If Tess' Kitchen Store cancels a class, you will be given the opportunity to reschedule for another class, get an account credit or a refund.
-
What if I can’t attend a class I registered for?
If you need to cancel or reschedule a cooking class, you may do so as long as it is more than 72 hours before the class. Chef's tables are non refundable. You will be able to cancel your class and get a credit or refund on your account by signing onto your RezClick account or give us a call to assist you.
No refunds or credits will be given within the 72 hour window prior to a cooking class as purchases will have been made to accommodate the number of enrolled guests.
-
Should I eat a meal before class?
During Covid 19 restrictions will not be serving snacks prior to class.
You will be served the prepared foods at the end of class along with a complimentary glass of wine. But if you think you might be hungry during class, we recommend eating a small snack beforehand.
-
What is the minimum age to attend a class?
Children 14 years and older can attend a class independently. Children 12-14 years old may attend with or without adult supervision depending on their skill level. Children 10-12 must be accompanied by an adult supervisor either as an observer or an enrolled class participant. Please call us to discuss this prior to enrolling your child.
We do offer kids cooking classes for ages 6-14 without adult supervision. Check our calendar during school breaks in the spring and summer.
-
Should I bring a bottle of wine to class?
A complimentary glass of wine is served at the conclusion of cooking classes as you sit to enjoy the food prepared! Our Sommelier will pair a wine to complement the specific dishes.
Some guests like to bring a bottle of wine to share with the class.
-
Do I need to register in advance?
Yes, please register with payment so that we can make sure there is sufficient enrollment to run a class and to determine the right quantity of ingredients and supplies.
-
What Can I Expect at a Tess' Cooking Class?
During this covid 19 restriction phase we will suspend the hands on feature of our cooking classes in order to avoid handling of your food by multiple people. You will be able to enjoy a full demonstration of cooking practices by our in house chef, Alan Tangren. You will have plenty of opportunity to engage with the chef and to ask questions.
At the end of class we will serve tastes of the dishes prepared in class and you will have all of the recipes to take home.
We will return to hands on-interactive cooking classes when it is safe to do so.
