At Paint Monkey, our art classes are about more than just learning acrylic painting techniques—they’re about carving out time just for you. No kids, no spouse, no distractions from your daily routine. We believe everyone has a creative side, and we want to help you discover yours. Every artist has their own unique style, and we’ll guide you as it emerges on the canvas. When you paint, you’ll be transported—it's the perfect escape.

In our classes, you’ll learn not only about brushes, paints, and color theory, but also about composition, design, and how to elevate your artwork to the next level.

The classes are led by Joe Groom, owner of Paint Monkey. A New York City native, Joe studied at the High School of Art & Design and received a scholarship to Parsons School of Design. After working in advertising and running his own design agency, Joe transitioned to painting, becoming a self-taught artist. He’s worked with high-profile companies and is passionate about sharing his skills. Joe’s approachable and genuine teaching style makes learning fun and accessible for everyone.

We started this class last fall and have seen many students blossom into confident painters. Whether it’s a landscape from a vacation or something that simply inspires you, bring an image you’d like to paint. We’ll help you bring it to life on canvas, showing you techniques to make it pop.

The theme for this week is "Animal Adventures"

Embark on a wild artistic journey exploring the animal kingdom! Campers will create vibrant paintings, dynamic sculptures, and engaging crafts featuring creatures from around the world. From the depths of the ocean to the heart of the jungle, this week is perfect for young artists who love animals and adventure.

We'll be doing a mixture of canvas painting, clay & sculpture and a variety of craft projects for this week's theme.
