Students will learn how to create gelli prints, foam prints, mono prints, collagraphs, and nature prints. ADULT PAINTING CLASS - 6:30 - 9PM (Ages 17+) SERIES OF 6 CLASSES
Our art classes are more than learning the techniques of acrylic painting. They are about taking time out for you, no kids, no spouse, no distractions from your everyday routine. At Paint Monkey we believe everyone has a creative side and we want to show you yours. We all have a style and it will come across in your paintings. When you paint, you'll get lost in your painting, a perfect escape. You'll learn about the different brushes, paints, color theory, composition, design and what makes a good painting better.
The classes will be taught by Joe Groom, owner of Paint Monkey. Joe is a New York City native and attended the High School of Art & Design and received a scholarship to Parsons School of Design. He went into advertising and owned his own design agency. He has worked with many high profile companies. He is a self taught painter and loves to share his knowledge and skill, and he's real people person.
We started this class last fall and we've seen so many blossom into good painters. Bring something you'd like to paint. It could be a landscape you took on vacation or something that strikes your fancy.
We'll help you transfer it on to canvas and show you techniques to make it pop.
